I've got no experience with Linux, but I'm good at figuring things out, so please bear with me.

I have an ATI TV Wonder Pro card in my box and KnoppMyth (R5A12) installed just fine. I have video coming in and all of the other modules work fine and have sound, but the TV module gives me nothing but static audio.

After reading through the MythTV guide and the forums, I still haven't been able to correct the problem.

I ran xawtv and aplay /dev/dsp
I got the "underrun" messages mentioned in the guide, but there was no sound playing.

I read this post:

And am experiencing the same symptoms it seems. I've checked my BIOS and AC97 is set to Auto. I've tried messing with the settings in aumix but haven't figured that out entirely, yet.

How do I make sure that my "line in" is set as the capture device using aumix? I think that is a good place to start. Try not to overwhelm me with command line stuff if at all possible. Breaking it down for me in easy to handle steps would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ok, now that I've brought my wife home from the hospital with the new baby I'll have plenty of late night hours to devote to solving my issue. For those who may be interested, I now believe that the problem lies in the drivers for the tuner card. It's an ATI TV Wonder Pro and sound output from the onboard audio is working fine. What isn't working is the audio being transferred from the tuner card to the mobo line in.

My next lead is to figure out how to install btaudio, since it doesn't seem to be on my system. Like I said before, I'm trying to become Linux literate, but it's been quite some time since I worked from the command line much (CP/M and DOS days).

I'll post another update after I've climbed a little farther up the learning curve.
