Or is there a bunch of tweaking, upgrading etc. to make it work?

Any docs, tips, links etc. are most welcome.

Thanks
Malcolm

PVR350 does not work in R4, and as for getting it to work yes it takes TONS of tweaking prodding etc, from what I understand the dev's still don't have it reliable enough for R5.

But if you are determined just search the forums there are numerous posts about it, although I'm not sure anyone has managed it 100% succesfully yet.

So if no one's gotten it working 100% yet am I just better off doing a custom install from scratch and compiling Mythtv 0.13 and ivtv 0.1.9 from source?

MythTV 0.13 is problematic with ivtv 0.19.

Hummm... I didn't know that. Problematic in what way?

What combo would you suggest? I just picked up some hardware today and I'm excited to build a mythbox this weekend.

I have:
2.4Ghz Celeron (plus MB)
512 RAM
DVD rom
PVR-250
PVR-350 (with grey remote)
Couple of hard drives for testing.

Thanks
Malcolm

Problematic during fast forwarding. I'd suggest sticking w/ 0.17 until the next release of MythTV.

with much pain in the *** I got it working.
installed knoppmyth R4.
tried to get it working - no success.
tested various ivtv-releases (releases, patches, betas) - no success.
upgraded to myth 013 (source) and ivtv 019, yippie a yeah (only forwarding problem)
downgraded ivtv several times, as of no i am using
ivtv: version 0.1.6 (+ivtv-031125A +aew-031212A)
works almost 100%.

sometimes my via-chipset makes trouble, but this should be solved in future.

if you need config files or so, feel free to ask.
