It might be worthwhile updating your BIOS, having a google around it appears you need to add pci=nommconf to your knoppmyth boot prompt as described here. If you install 5D1 with that added to the initial boot prompt, it should automagically use that on the installed system.

Try that out before trying to solve your second problem, it might be solved by it.

Well im Trying to install R5E50...
here are the compleat errors(after rebooting 4 or 5 times to write them down)
PCI: BIOS BUS: MCFG Area at F0000000 is not E820-reserved
PCI: Not using MMCONFIG

I updated the BIOS to one that was just recently released...it didnt seem to change anything except the intel flash screen

stuck the R5E50 cd in and typed "tv pci=nommconf" it went away it is currently installing with that peramater

but i noticed a third error under those two
intel_rng: FWH not detected

but i found this post stating that you can use ignor it...so im going to unless someone knows a way to fix it
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... h+detected

I will post back when the install is done.

Thanks

I've been working KnoppMyth for the past week, and I ran into this respawning error.

The solution for me was to make sure that the BIOS setting for allowing the video to USE an IRQ was ON. Not giving the old nvidia card I was using an IRQ would cause this error.

I hope this fixes your problem, too!
