I am having difficulty getting a LVM setup with "create_lvm.sh /dev/hda3 /dev/hdb1" -It spits out the following:

Not sure what is going on here. I did try a manual LVM, but with the same results. Any one have an idea as to what is happening? Thanks!!! :)

Was either of those drives in a volume group before?

Yes, the Seagate 250GB was (hdb1), but I had deleted the partition and created a new one. The Maxtor 500GB (hda3) is a brand new drive, and was used doing a fresh install. Seems weird to me, but then I'm no Linus Torvald!

That is interesting... Take a look at Hints and Tips. You should find a recent post by me on LVM recreation. The links should be able to get you going.

Or not...

For some reason it still thinks I have a 160GB HDD, when I actually replaced the 160 HDD with a 500 HDD. Whereas I should have about a 720 GB LVM, it is reading as my old 368 GB LVM. I suppose I'll need to do some sort of baseline wipe for these hard drives, so as to get a completey fresh install, unless someone knows of a magic bullet!!!

Thanks for your help Cecil! You rock with your dedication to Knoppmyth, and for the ease and convenience it provides for me and my family! Thank you!

p.s. my wife has been jonesing for the last week with it being down, whereas she wondered why I had spent so much time on it initially!
