Hello! I installed for the first time kanoppmyth r5f7. When testing the cheksum CD of the result has been 100 ok. I do the automatic installation and when I reboot my htpc the screen stays black. He has put back the CD and have installed the opicon 6 "Exit to console" and once here write "Mythtv-setup" and the answer is "cannot conect to x server" Someone can help me, I am also a beginner in linux My sistem is: Medion Desktop case Intel Celeron 850 MHz Prozessor MSI MS 6723 Mainboard mit VIA Chipsatz Grafiklösung onBoard mit shared memory (VIA CLE266 mit Hardwarempeg-Decoder) Dvb-C analog card ( KNC-I) 6-Kanal Sound onBoard 512 MB DDR-RAM PC400 Multinorm DVD Brenner 200 GB Festplatte mit 7200 1/min 10 / 100 MBit LAN (als PC-Karte kein onBoard Anschluss) Tastatur und Maus (jeweils USB-Anschluss) Medion Front Connect XL: 2x USB 2.0, 1x IEEE1394 FireWire, Audio-In, Kopfhörer-Anschluss, Mikrofon-In 8in1 Cardreader Anschlüsse Rückseite: 2x USB 2.0, 1x RJ45 LAN, 1x IEE1394 FireWire, S-Video-Out, Composite Video-Out, Scart-Out, 1x Line-Out, 1x Line-In, 1x S / P-DIF Out |

Thanks spideyk21. I read this link and I do this option: 1.-Boot from the CD 2.-Take the menu option to exit to a console prompt 3.-Mount your hard drive mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1 4.-Use the chroot command to make that your new /. chroot /mnt/hda1 5.-For R5E50 and later, stop xorg from loading: mv /usr/bin/startx starts.save reboot 6 loggin : mythtv 7 paswoord: mythtv now, I am in X windows , and how can I do? |

Code: I read this link and I do this option:
1.-Boot from the CD 2.-Take the menu option to exit to a console prompt 3.-Mount your hard drive mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1 4.-Use the chroot command to make that your new /. chroot /mnt/hda1 5.-For R5E50 and later, stop xorg from loading: mv /usr/bin/startx starts.save reboot You should not be in an x session after the reboot. If you did as the wiki said startx will not exist, and the x server will not start. You will be in a terminal session. From here you can look at the logs, then fix the problem with the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 or /etc/X11/xorg.conf file |
