Is there any upgrade Hints and tips from Tjc on the way? A really uses his guides in the past to upgrade my system without too much headach.

Thanks for the release

Agreed - definitely looking forward to tjc's post :)

I have to admit - R6/LinHES install is pretty slick! If only I could figure out the Command IR II :D

Looks like Arch linux was the way to go -- great work !

The basics are always more or less the same. Make a good backup, verify your backup, make notes about anything you've got installed or configured special. Pay attention to the details when you do the install. ;-)

Other than that... I could barely begin to summarize the changes at a high level. It's all very, very different. The parent Linux distro is different (debian --> Arch), the package system is different (dpkg/apt-get --> pacman), the init system is different (sysv init --> runit), the web server is different (apache --> lighthttpd), the directory layout is somewhat different (and still changing), the installed versions are very different, ...

For known issues and bug reports, see the fly spray bug tracker here: http://linhes.org/flyspray/

I've also changed jobs recently (<4 months), am back in the start up world again, and thus chronically short on spare time. I haven't even done the upgrade on my own production box yet. :(
