from X hit ctrl+alt+F1 all at the same time. this will bring you to a console. log in as root, and type install-nvidia.sh it will download the nvidia drivers install them and restart X. Simple as pie.

I'm trying to install the nVidia driver for my TNT2 card and need help. I can't seem to exit XWindows to run nVidia's driver installation script. So my questions are: 1) What is the easiest way to install the nVidia driver on a knoppmyth installation? 2) Is there a way to completely exit XWindows? I've found several posts on this issue, none of which have instructions that work with knoppmyth or have sufficient detail to work. |
