Post subject:  Modifying Frequency Tables

Firstly I must what an excellent build. This is the easiest Mythtv install I have done. (Tried on Redhat & Mandrake following the myth documentation and I always seem to get some problems)

Anyway, my question. I need to change the frequencies in the freq tables, which seem to be compiled into the build rather than in the database. (None of the tables cater for UK Cable)

How do I ensure a modified frequencies.c file gets included in my install ?

Can I recompile after install, or is everything pre-compiled ?

Thanks,
Pete

Thanks, that was/is our goal.

I did a standard build. I didn't modify any of MythTV's code.

I don't know....You may want to check:http://www.gossamer-threads.com/archive/MythTV_C2/

Yes. The source is in /home/mythtv/r4_src

I just found a way round my problem by using the "china-bcast" channel plan, and then offsetting all the channels by +750kHz.

However, I would still like to do it properly. I have searched the entire myth archives but can't find the answer so that's why I've come here !

Anyway, I can edit the required file ok, but I'm not sure if I can just do the following, or if I somehow need to run a command to clean things up before I complie ?

$ tar -xjf mythtv-0.12.tar.bz2
$ cd mythtv-0.12
$ ./configure
$ qmake mythtv.pro
$ make

Switch to superuser:

$ su
# make install
# exit

Thanks,
Pete

p.s. Sorry to trouble you with this but I can't find the answer anywhere and I never seem to get any replies on the users or dev mailing lists.

No trouble and thanks for looking before asking! Glad you got it figured out.
