I was just wondering what all the script and the associated .deb file does. I currently have the lx version installed, but I want to remove the XvMC support, because it causes the frontend to segfault about 1 out of every three times I try to watch a recording, and it's getting old. I Just wanted to make sure that running the install-i686-l script isn't going to screw up my database, and all my settings.

Thanks,

It won't effect anything...Other than removing mythtv the .deb, dpkg -r mythtv-i686-lirc-xvmc then install-i686-l.

I think this has been traced to a frontend communications problem when poor quality input (cable) video. This is supposed to be addressed in the new release .13.
