This is just a quick info for currently not recommended hardware. The shuttle SN41G2V3 is only available in Europe and the 2.4.25 kernel has some serious problems with it: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3007 Hauppage PVR-350 model 991 needed ivtv 0.2.0 (maybe 0.10.0 would have done due to the SAA7129 tuner). Will work, but now out of the box! In order to get a supported chipset, which is crucial to run the disk with DMA, you don't get around a 2.4.27 kernel. With this, I couldn't run X anymore for a yet unknown reason. ivtv_fb crashed the whole box and so on. So as conclusion: LEAVE IT. KnyoppMyth is supposed to make your life easier than trying to get MythTV running on a regular (and up-to-date) distribution. For me this is not the case, so ... I give up! Should R5 base on a recent kernel, I guess I'll be back! Till then, Thomas |
