I am about to give up on this card. I have installed a number of diffrent distros (gentoo, ubuntu, knoppmyth) and getting TV out working right is a major PITA.

The closest was with ubuntu, I had myth and TV out working. I doubled back on my gentoo install and got it working there too.

I tried the same steps on knoppmyth and had no luck. I tried loading mga, i2c_matroxfb, matroxfb_crtc2 and matroxfb_maven on knoppmyth but no dice. matroxset cannot find /dev/fb1.

I am suprised that I can't get the G400 working on knoppmyth as both ubuntu and knopmyth are based on Debian.

The reason I gave up on ubuntu was because it was to heavey for my system. Intel 815, PIII Celeron 1.2 gig, 256 meg of RAM, hauppauge 150.

Final question, I have an ATI 9200 with TV out in another box. Should I just give up on the G400 and try this Video card?

I would shelve the G400 and try the ATI video card. I have heard they give a good results when using the ATI proprietary driver.

Thanks!
