I installed Mythburn. I never got cutlists working--I got errors and it failed, but decided to try creating DVDs of shows without cutting commercials.
WHen I went through the web-based steps, all proceeded fine, but after
"Extracting video thumbnails for animated menu"
the log prints:
"tc_memcpy: using mmxext for memcpy" and stays there forever (OK 24 hours so far for 1 hour of video). I checked top and it shows that tcdecode is running continually, but I finally killed the process. What should normally happen?
I set up mythburn using the howto from the wiki. I'm not an idiot, and have successfully installed plugins before, though this is not a good testimonial so far.
Any help is appreciated, but this is the fun part of MythTV--if I wanted painless, I'd've bought a TiVO :)

yeah... so uh, I'm having this exact same problem also, sorry I can't give help, but I get the same issue, if I do it without animated menus it stops at "cutting commercials with avidemux2" anyway, I hope someone has a solution

Try it without the animated menus...

I also posted my diffs here and/or on the wiki, basically the changes I needed to make to get it working with the latest CVS under R5A12.

also on R5A12 and also stuck on animated menus. How do I actually stop MythBurn from running? I've clicked....

"Cancel/stop current processing" and it just sits there with the mesage "BurnDVD has been asked to stop, it may take a few seconds to respond." When I check the log, I see no change.

I have also done a reboot. and the process lives...

How can I stop this?

Did you follow these directions? Including the trouble shooting sections? Did you look into my diffs as I suggested? I've had at least a couple people report that they worked for them.
