I'm trying to resolve some of the last little issues on my box.

I get the map unavailable on mythweather problems. Before you go tell me that I should look at the wiki, I think the MythWeather Fix is incorrect. It claims that w3.weather.com was replaced by www.weather.com. If this is true why does my wythweb show the weather map correctly? I looked at /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb/weather.php an it still points to w3.weather.com.

I also tried the easy way, I changed w3.weather.com to the ip of www.weather.comin /etc/hosts (which by the way is identical for both www and w3)

I also saw another post saying to keep refreshing the weather, but this doesn't work.

I also tried using mythfrontend -v all > log.log and found no errors or anything of use really.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Better searches... Try looking for "animated map" and comments about the number of images in the sequence changing from 4 to 5 with the result that you see an error message.

BTW - I can tell you from personal experience that w3.weather .com was out of service or missing from their DNS, and they only recently restored it. The fix is obsolete (but harmless) not incorrect. There is a slight difference... ;-) The fact that the URLs are hard coded so that you have to recompile if they make a trivial server naming change and not configurable properties in the *real* bug.
