Hi everybody!!

i am a newbie in linux. i am building an htpc under knoppmyth R5A12 version. and i have some questions.

1. i have a Winfast 2000 XP (bt878 chip) TV card. should i need to install ivtv driver ??? if need how to install it ???

2. In the MythTv configuration part, which type of TV card does Winfast 2000 Xp belong to????(capture care configuration part)

3. how to set channels to make it works??? any frequency table for live TV program in Australia (Melb.)???

1) no the leadtek uses the bttv driver and it and ivtv driver are already installed in knoppmyth.

2) it should be setup as a v41 software card. should be the first option when setting up a card.

3) can't help you there.

hi hi

i still have the problem like when i turn on the pc, after knoppmyth detected my TV card just like:

bttv: already loaded
bt878: blacklisted


what this means?????? is that i need to install the driver or that is a configure problem???

have anyone can help me to make it work for watching tv?????????plz.......

that sounds like hotplug messages which are harmless. just run

lsmod | grep bttv

and see if bttv shows up anywhere if it does the drivers are loaded.

I know at least in my case I had to tell bttv the card and tuner type since it didn't autodetect correctly. to do this edit

/etc/mythtv/modules/bttv

either add or edit a line like

options bttv card=34 tuner=2

now I seem to recall that pal is supposed to be tuner=5 but you may need to verify that one with google, as I've never delt with pal.
