After some tweeking, I got nuv2disk working, including cutlists. There were two problems that had to be fixed that might be the cause of the numerous cutlist problems I hear about (full details at http://knoppmythwiki.homelinux.org/index.php?page=NuvexportMPEGcut):
The filename parsing is wrong. It assumed 3 digit channels. A filename with a non-3 digit channel would fail at the DB query.
The audio offset is calculated incorrectly. I have a kluge fix. When I get a chance, I try and put something better up.
Now that the forum is back (yeah!), I'm going to check out the 28-page-mega-post and see if I can get mythtvburn scripts to work. Just my luck that the day my DVD burner arrives in the mail, the forum get hacked :o

Allen

I'm going to put something up in a little while about getting mythburn working under R5A12. As I've been working through the various issues I've also been adding notes to the very nice wiki page someone else started about getting it running.

I REALLLY want to get mythburn working, but cannot get it running with cuts.

IS there any guidance starting from a base knoppmyth system to get it running?

I'm frustrated at this point and not trusting my own troubleshooting skills.

I've tried debugging via the logs and command line execution. It seems to center around the inability of mpeg2cut-mod to create or find the inputfile.cut and inputfile.cut2 files

weird...

I've had problems with mpeg2 commercial cutting too. My current impression is that avidemux "isn't as robust as it could be". This based on the fact that it works much better (but still not correctly) with short file names. I'll refrain from commenting on what else that implies to me...

I suggest you try commercial_cut (the DVB cutter I wrote and put on the wiki). It works with with PVR cards now (according to reports from some users). The method is crude, but I think that's why it works so well. I don't do any frigging with PTS (packet time stamp) codes which means that the stream will have a discontinuity in it, but the players (myth, mplayer and my DVD player) seem to cope quite well with this, whereas if you try to fixup the timestamps and get it wrong (as some of the other cutters seem to) you end up with sync problems.

I'll give it a try when I get a chance to try to make mythburn work under R5A15.1 or maybe R5A16 by then. I want the results to work with a real DVD player however so the timing may matter...
