Not that I'm any sort of guru, but the error message seems to indicate that there is no data in the guide. Did you run mythfilldatabase?

make sure to try different cases on your login, I know there is some issue with case on the username and password. I'm not sure if it's case sensitive, or just requires all lower case. I know if I put a capital letter in my username it won't work.

Hi Darth_tater,

I think you are looking in the wrong tree. First, which version are you using, what kind of install, Auto, Manual IDE/SATA ? Did you see any errors about backend not running? Most of the issues I have experienced are usually caused by not having everything setup, paths to things you are not even using or planning to use.

New HD? Hard Drive or Hi Def

check the logs
tail -50 /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log
tail -50 /var/log/messages
tail -50 /var/log/mysql/mysql.log
dmesg |less

look to see what they have to say for clues and there are a couple of little tweaks that you may want to apply also. Unfortunetly I don't recall who provided them, a couple were from Human.

mkdir -p /var/www/mythweb/php_sessions -m a+rw

ln -s /myth/music /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb/music

chgrp www-data /myth/image_cache

then recycle the backend
(check to see if it is running before and after)
ps ax
sudo sh /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend stop
sleep 7
sudo sh /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend start
ps ax

Mike
