I had some problems on my install of MythStream on R5A16 which I finally resolved this monring and I wanted to post them here and prbably in the Wiki in case someone else runs into them.

I dl's the codecs and compiled a new Mplayer as per the Wiki.

I was able to get MPlayer to run streams from a command line but nothing would happen from within Mythstream...I would get Stream not found msgs.

I ran mythfrontend from an Xshell and I noticed there were some error messages referencing Player.xml. I found another post about Mythstream that said you needed to copy over a new version of player.xml.

So i did a
Code:
mv /usr/share/mythtv/mythstream/player.xml mv /usr/share/mythtv/mythstream/player.xml.old

To rename the old file and then:

Code:
cp /downloads/mythstream/mythstream-0.16-5/libs/player.xml  /usr/share/mythtv/mythstream/player.xml

/downloads/mythstream/mythstream-0.16-5/ is where I untarred Mythstream

After this I got streaming to work, but there was no sound...I use SPDIF on an Nforce motherboard.

In the Player.xml file in the <Custom> section I added:
Code:
<item>
<name>-ao</name>
<value>alsa:device=spdif</value>
</item>

Voila!! I have sound and video!!!!

(In player.xml , I also bumped the cache up to 1000 (from 256) but I'm not sure if this is really necessary)

Now I can put on Ukranian TV when my Inlaws come over and achieve Hero Staus :lol:

Thanks to everyone who setup the instructions that got me this far.
