While there isn't a /etc/init.d/myth-backend there is a /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend.

On my R5A16 it is listed as /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend and I do it with a script just make noise

I have similar problems when trying to load mythweb burn section. Backend fails with this:
