Does anybody know if MythTv will work with this setup:

1)Directv (Hughes HIRD-E1) receiver(no serial port)
2)Local stations from my attic antenna
3)Hauppage PVR 150

I'm assuming I can get #1 to work with IR blaster. I'm not so sure about #2. To record shows, I would need to be able to map low range channels(2-39) to use the coaxial input being fed to the Hauppage card. All the directv channels(100+) would need to be mapped to the s-video input from the Hughes receiver to the Hauppage card. Audio for Directv would have to go from the RCA outs on the Hughes receiver to the line inputs on the Hauppage card(if it has them) or the sound card on my computer.

Does this seem possible?

Surely there's somebody else out there using the freely available over

the air networks with Directv and Mythtv.

Thanks

In Mythtv-setup:

1. Go to Zap2it and create two line-ups, one for cable and one for satellite.
2. Create a source that ties to the cable line-up
3. Create a second source that ties to the sat line-up.
4. Under the connections menu (option 4) set cable for Tuner 1 and sat for S-Video

When you schedule a recording for directv myth should automatically switch to s-video. I don't have an IR blaster so I'm assuming it would know to use it in this situation. I believe this is accurate - if anyone else cares to correct me please do so.

Thanks for the info. Any idea about the sound from the Directv receiver?
