Has anyone else had this problem just got a new LCD TV and when using the Component video the myth screen is showing up 4:3. If I use the DVI out on my FE it fills up the screen. I have it set to 720p on both. I am using R5D1.
Thanks for any help.

Maybe if you told us what video card you have it could help. Are you using some sort of adapter from your video card's output to making it into a component signal?

Have you tried using the "w" key to switch aspect ratios?
Also have you tried changing your tvs aspect/zoom setting to see if it corrects the problem?
If myth is treating your display like it is a 4:3 instead of a 16:9 (this may happen with a 480P display setting since it could be either) then you could try adding the following to your XFree86Config-4
DisplaySize 340 180
( you may need to use different values to get the fonts to work well)
A couple searches for displaysize will give you a lot of info.

To get fonts to look acceptable with nvidia drivers use the DPI option:
Option "DPI" "100x100"
fooling with the DisplaySize can 'fix' this, but this is the more direct way IMO.

I tried to use the w key at the main screen and doesn't seem to do anything.
I have the TV set to fill the screen. I also did try to use the Display Size setting and didn't seem to make a difference. When the TV is turned on it does say 480i and then when it get to the myth screen it changes to 720P. When I go into the info on the TV it does say 720p and does have the right screen resolution but is still in a 4:3 mode.
Thank for the idea's so far.

What brand is the TV? I have a Samsung LCD TV and it will stretch the picture in 480i mode, but not 720p or 1080i. So in 720p, the signal coming in has to be 16:9 for it to fill the screen. I don't know if there is a way to check what aspect ratio myth is using to output.

I have a Wstinghouse LTV-32w6. Here is the XF86Config-4 file.
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
Option "DPMS" "false"
Option "TVStandard" "HD720p"
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "TV"
Option "TVOutFormat" "COMPONENT"
Option "NoLogo" "1"
Option "TVOverScan" "0.8"
Option "DPI" "75 x 75"
If I set it to HP480p it fills up almost all of the screen and if I have it set to HD480i it does fill up the whole screen so it seem the higher resolution I go the more it shrinks the picture. Hitting the w key didn't do anything I am having this issue with the main Knoppmyth screen not in a play back screen. Sorry if I gave that impression.
Hopefully is will help.
