We've been happily using 0.19 for a while. We transcode some shows after editing to save space. All worked well.

I upgraded to 0.20. Transcoding now fails with an error 252. mythbackend.log says "Must specify -i OR -c AND -s options!" If I go to the command line and run mythtranscode on a file (specifying -i and a file name, along with -o and --mpeg2), it works successfully. In mythtv-setup, mythtranscode is being run with "mythtranscode --sleep"--the same as before.

Help?

Dan

Upgrade to the new release. Lossless transcoding is known to work well there.

Meaning R5E50 (as opposed to R5D1, which I am running)?

Maybe I'll have some time this weekend to give it a go.

Yes. There are a couple documented issue with transcoding in the MythTV versions available for R5D1. Upgrading to R5E50 or recompiling from the SVN versions are you best bets for getting a fix.

See this thread for the upgrade notes - http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13108
