I’ve often been troubled that commercial flagging has been run on my recordings I still needed to load the commercial flags into my cut list. I know it’s a small step to do but it drives me mad.

So I’ve come up with a small work about.

First make a small script

/usr/bin/com2cut
Code:
#!/bin/sh
/usr/bin/mythcommflag --force --file $1/$2 --quiet
/usr/bin/mythcommflag --gencutlist --file $1/$2 –quiet

Then add a user job
Code:
/usr/bin/com2cut "%DIR%" "%FILE%"

With some name you like ‘com2cut’

Now that’s done , when you record something just flag the user job to run and it will flag the commercials then load them into your cut list.

And rember that you don’t need to include Auto commercial flagging to run as well

How useful this is to you will depend strongly on how accurately the commercial flagging works for you. Frankly while I have seen a lot that are pretty good, I've never seen one that was beyond about 90% right.

Amazing! I just came to the forum to find out just how to do this. I just set up a user job to for my wife to convert to ipod, now I can add this one. Perfect.

tjc - You are correct. Some shows work better than others!
