I've just upgraded from R4V5 to R5D1 on the same hardware and am noticing my machine that played back fine before seems to now be struggling to playback a recorded program.

top shows the cpu idle at 0% when playing back a recording, and the video is a little jerky.

Hardware breakdown for background, Celeron 1.7GHz, Wintv PVR-350, however I am not using the onboard hardware decoder since I found that severely degrades the quality of non-mpeg playback (ie divx and xvid), though I'd love to be told that problem has been fixed in the newer versions of the drivers...

Anyhow, the basic question I'm asking - have the requirement for Myth become heavier? I'm seeing mythfrontend using about 80% of the CPU when playing back. And is there a way to change the encoding settings to make decoding a little less CPU intensive? Perhaps to not so highly compress it?

Thanks.
