I'm having trouble with getting lirc to work for any non-mythfrontend task. Basically, if im in mythfrontend and type alt+x to get a terminal, even though the terminal is ontop, the remote still controls mythtv (i can see the icons being scrolled through). The same happens if i start up mplayer. Therefore, when i start mplayer of xine with mythfrontend, i cant get control of mplayer/xine with my remote.

i remember something about window focus in fluxbox, but i can't seem to find the setting.

Are you using irxevent to set the commands? If your hard setting them to the particular app (myth, xine etc.) it will work like that, but irxevent does the particulars in what ever window that is in focus.

In focus window with irxevent:
Code:
# Volume-Down
begin
   prog = irxevent
   button = vol_down
   repeat = 1
   config = Key F10 CurrentWindow
end

Hard set to application
Code:
# Program Guide
begin
   prog = mythtv
   button = guide
   config = F2
end

This is the config I used for my remote (probably not appropriate for the remote your using, but may give you some insight as to how it all works.)

I finally figured this out (gave in and plugged in the mouse...) and this allowed me to right click the desktop and change the focus model (i think it's on click to focus now, but i had to unplug the mouse because it was screwing with my remote's input). seems that this should be changed by default... who knows?
