I'm sort of happy with how myth music behaves.... but not totally. It's pretty boring to scroll through a bunch of text. Is there a way to browse with some sort of picture... perhaps an album cover or a combination of all album covers by the artist (sort of like in xp under my music).

Also, is there any way to have no music play when myth music is entered? I usually end up having to listen to 311's album 311, track 1... and im really down on that one now!

Karl

Browse by picture - not possible at the moment, although that would be nice. Mythmusic is one area of mythtv under heavy development as a lot of people don't like it. If you had a shitload of albums though you would most likely find it easier to use text than folder/pics to wade through.

Autoplay - I'm pretty sure this shouldn't be a problem to fix but because you have Blink 192 on your machine to begin with I'm not motivated enough to pinpoint how to fix it, sure someone else will though

i admit 311 sucks (but i bought it 10 or 12 years ago, and hate to throw away anything). however, 311 isn't blink 182. I'll give you the fact that both bands have 3 numbers thought.

as for browsing with pictures... currently you scroll line by line through text. With pictures, this could be laid out with columns (4 or 5 wide) and you could still display 15-20 albums/artists per screen. I think this is how it's done in several other music players that are setup for use with a remote.

yeh, that would be nice - I think MS media player gets the album covers from an online CDDB (CD Database) - I might be wrong but I doubt there are any free CDDB's with cover art due to nazi state US copyright laws. I presume it would have to work by just loading up a jpeg that was left in the album folder. Would be ideal if it had FULL cd sleeve inserts that you could browse through whilst listening to music.

Still, I have so many albums I'd need to maximise space so I probably wouldn't use that feature other than to show people how pretty it looks.
