Are you making your own SVN builds or are you supplying the LinHES ones?
Building the LinHES ones.

Thank you for doing that work!! I don't really know the people other than Cecil who are working on LinHES.

Ok did some testing.

1) Started an HDPVR recording
2) Started an HDHomerun recording.
3) Tried to play both on two clients. No video on all tries.
4) Playing finished recordings always worked.
5) Changed to CPU++ playback and both recordings played properly.
6) Changed back to VDPAU. Exited Mythfrontend and restarted. First try it worked on HDHomerun recording. All tries after did not whether HDHomerun or HDPVR source recording.
7) Rebooted client. I think it worked the first time and then stopped after.

It's hard to say what the problem is. Probably more of a random thing than anything. Here is what is spewed in mythfronend log on a failure:

Code:
2009-08-24 18:28:16.869 NVP(8): Forcing decode extra audio option on (Video method requires it).

Any thoughts? Perhaps those warnings a clue?

Hey I see that you did another svn build. I updated and did a quick test and it looks to be fixed. I'll test a bit more and if I find anything I'll report here.

Thanks!

I also updated the nVidia drivers to the latest. So, either one could have fixed it for you.

FYI, there is a typo on the first post:

Code:
pacman -R mythtvappletrailers

should be:

Code:
pacman -R mythappletrailers

Just noticed since I'm trying to add a slave backend.

I apologize for what may sound like a stupid question.

I have a motorola 3416 stb currently using firewire capture.
Bought an hdpvr would like to switch to it.

My question is about channel changing for automatic recordings

I connect the component out and optical out from the 3416 to the hdpvr
USB from hdpvr to mythbox

How do I set the mythbox to change channels on the 3416 and trigger hdpvr capture?

You can continue to use the firewire channel changing script (6200ch). Just define it in mythtv-setup like you did for the firewire capture.

Mr Harris, were you planning on doing a new build of mythtv-svn anytime soon? Perhaps a rc-1 based build? It's not critical but I was interested in using storage groups for MythVideo. That could work with the latest svn build we have but Jamu needs a later SVN version. I didn't want to muck with MythVideo with out Jamu to bulk update the database.

Your builds make it so easy to upgrade and the less work for me the better. :D

Are you looking for a 0.22-fixes build? I believe it was released today (or maybe yesterday).

Yeah I guess I am! Since it will be a while before LinHES is officially 0.22, it would be nice to be able to get all these last big fixes they have done the last month. I know I can build it myself but being able to use pacman is a lot easier.

BTW, remember the issue with sometimes not getting video when starting a recording? Usually an exit and restart fixed it but another way is to just hit 'W' to cycle through the modes (full, v-stretch, h-stretch etc). Perhaps this bug is now fixed. It was really the only issue I was seeing on my systems.

djb61230, can you please test out the latest build (pacman -Syu) and let me know how it goes?

You might need to do a force with pacman due to some theme differences. I had to repatch some of the menus. Make sure you backup your database and previous packages so you can revert. I did not remove them from the repo, just to make it easier to go back.

All seemed to go fine. I didn't have to force anything.

I noticed the G.A.N.T. theme is gone. My backend was using it for it's 13-inch monitor so it defaulted to Terra. So when it popped up it was out of the ordinary, then I noticed GANT was missing. OK by me.

I did some testing by playing recordings and scheduled a recording to verify all is OK. Not a lot but things look good. I did notice that they changed the schedule a recording screen. Same functionality, just updated to the latest UI I would guess.

Thank you Mr. Harris, you rock!

Great! They moved some of the old themes to a different directory (soon to be expired would be my guess).
