Hi, Im not really used to linux but after a while I got MythTV to work http://members.home.nl/peter.oomen/KNOPPMYTH_Configuration.htm its a crappy document but I thought I would share it with you guys.. the tuning I use I havent seen before in this board. support: Im not a linux/mythtv guru but ill answer pm's 
I really dont understand why this stuff isnt in the main manual (eeuh, this should be under another section (problems/sollutions)) |

Hi Hoberion, Did you manage to get an EPG (Program Guide) for the Netherlands on your MythTV? Did every other functionality work? Which remote did you use? Kind Regards, Hugo Leijtens |

Me too had a hard time getting the EPG working in the Netherlands along with the PAL specific stuff. Maybe if I find the time I'll list all the files I had to edit to get everything working in using PAL. I see on Hoberion's site that he could use some pointers on how to make sure audio is working after reboots. My config survives reboots gracefully. Initially I couldn't get the tv_grab_nl working in R4. Then I found this grabber: http://visualisation.tudelft.nl/~paul/grabber/ It's the one I've been using since (R4V2 now). Maybe later versions of the tv_grab_nl that ship with KnoppMyth work fine now. I couldn't be bothered to try them since this works fine. I moved the original /usr/bin/tv_grab_nl to /usr/bin/tv_grab_nl_orig. Then made a symbolic link /usr/bin/tv_grab_nl to /usr/bin/tv_grab_nl_pdb (renaming also works). This is the config file I use with it (/home/mythtv/.xmltv/tv_grab_nl_pdb.conf): Code: 1 Nederland 1
2 Nederland 2 3 Nederland 3 4 RTL 4 37 NET 5 36 SBS 6 46 Yorin 34 Veronica 31 RTL 5 7 BBC 1 8 BBC 2 5 VRT TV1 6 KETNET/Canvas 9 ARD 10 ZDF 13 NDR Fernsehen 17 TV 5 65 Animal Planet 25 MTV 35 TMF 29 Discovery Channel 18 National Geographic 26 CNN 19 Eurosport The numbers before the channelnames are the numbers you need to specify in the xmltvid field of the channel table in the mythconverg database. It is not the channel number I chose but the id it's been given on www.tvgids.nl. You can specify the channelnumber in the channel table in the channum field. As a remote I use the grey remote that came with my PVR-350 together with the IR receiver that plugs in the back. |
