I seem to be having trouble with just about anything involving a password...After running for a couple hours, my passwords seem to stop working on my mythbox. If I am trying to enter a password for a samba share, i click ok, the computer thinks for a minute or so, and then comes up with the password dialog box again. When I try to log in to webmin, after i enter the username and password, it acts like it's going to load but then never does. If I try try to ssh in, it will ask me for the password, I type it in, and it will either hang indefinitely, or let me in up to five minutes later. If I reboot the computer, everything works fine again for a while...but this is incredibly inconvenient, since it's my myth box, and I have to wait until there's nothing recording. Any suggestions? |

Upgrade? Since it does a full replacement of the root image it's a pretty reliable way of purging any evil the system has accumulated. See my R5C7 upgrade notes at http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10116 which should help make it easier. |

Strange.. Check to see how the load is on the machine with top and free The ssh hang is sometimes caused by a failed reverse lookup on the connecting IP addresses. if you add the box that your connecting from to your /etc/hosts it might fix that. To find out what might be going on with your samba share look in /var/log/samba for clues. Also make sure that your loopback is configured |
