Post subject: | Just installed R5C7 with pvr-500 . Question |
I just installed ver. R5c7 with pvr-500 card and gforce4 mx4400 video card. I have a problem . Ok when I press watch tv it displays tuner1. I can switch to tuner2 with the f key on the keyboard. The problem is when i start to record a show on tuner1 or tuner2 and try to switch a channel it won't do anything. How do i do this so i watch one thing on tuner1 and tuner2 records a show for me. Thank you for your help. |

Can you change channels when you're just watching live TV? You might need to do step 4 of the CompilIvtv procedure on the wiki if your card uses the Samsung tuner. |

Ok here is what i have noticed. When I setup a recording ahead to start for example in one hour than everything seems fine. The recording starts and I can switch the channels with my remote. The problem I guess is when I am watching Tv and decide that I want to start recording a show I hit "REC" on my remote control. When I do this you can't switch the channels any more. This really doesn't make any sence to me. Please help me out. |

Ah! Light dawns. That's actually perfectly normal. When you start a "Recording" it locks the channel for sanity preserving reasons. Either switch to the other tuner or stop the recording and you should be able to change the channel to your heart's content. Remember watching live TV is always recording anyway, when you tell it to Record something, the presumption is that you want a good copy and you want to keep it for some length of time. |
