Hello all. I've recently had to reconfigure my MythTV box to use a DCT2244 cable receiver (Comcast, Denver) and I can no longer get my PVR150 IR Blaster to make the receiver do anything. I previously ran a DISH 301 receiver and the the IR Blaster worked just fine, however I can't get anything to happen with this 2244 receiver.

I've scoured the internet and have probably read every article and walkthrough on the ir blaster and the DCT2000 setup. I feel I'm missing something very basic but I don't know what it is.

My IR blaster worked fine right after the MythTV installation. I can read remote codes and send signals through the blaster, but the 2244 doesn't react to any code provided. I've ran through all 575 power codes several times to no avail. The 2244 has about 1/2 inch between the actual hardware receiver and the external enclosure (which is very dark), could this be causing any signal loss problems? I was thinking about prying off the front panel to the 2244 and putting the blaster directly on the receiver, should this help?

Also, if anyone can provide me the blaster code set for a DCT2244 I would be much appreciative. i.e. set 1_6_KEY_.....

Thanks,
Jerry

That dark plastic is probably quite transparent at infra-red wavelengths, so that is unlikely to be your problem.

Have you tried using this lirc config file?

I have seen this config before, but I can't recall what I did with it, if anything. I'll give that shot and see what happens. Thanks.

Using that conf results in:

Quote:
irsend SEND_ONCE DCT2244 1
irsend: command failed: SEND_ONCE DCT2244 1
irsend: transmission failed

And when I use the blaster remote as created by lirc for the PVR150 blaster it works just fine, no errors, and sends the signal.

Thanks,
Jerry
