Hi,
I built a new box ( Celeron D 2.93, 128K L2 cache, 512MB memory),a nvidia 5200 FX with DVI output graphics card and Dvico Fusion5 RT Lite card and got things working ( took some time searching forums for an adequate modeline for a Sony WEGA 42" DLP TV, using DVI->HDMI cable)
My MOBO has a VIA chipset on it.

Turns out knoppmyth did recognize most of my hardware (took me a while to learn to set the DVICO card as 'DVB'). I still have not figured out
how to get the analog cards with it.

A couple of comments/questions

1- I notice several seconds (about 10) delay when switching channels.
Also, ocasionally I get a 'jerky' picture (like it was at a very slow frame rate). Any tips on how to get rid of this delay?

2- I did populated the database using a net connection, but the box curently has no net access. I get most ATSC digital channels in my area, except the one I build the box for :-( (The world cup is nearly starting and
I'd like to get the spanish KAKW near Austin, TX where I live). I get that
channel directly on my TV tuner. Could it be multipath issues with the DVICO? Or my database not being properly populated?

3- Watching DVD's - Going on the dialog to 'optical disks' it only plays the
FBI warning about not copying DVDs and thinks it is done. I even tried
to 'rip' the DVD to watch, but I get a message, something like 'no tasks scheduled or nothing to do'

3- Also on DVD's and regional lock: is there a way of disabling the region lock to watch DVD's from other regions?

thanks!

1: There's always going to be some delay because the video is saved to disk, then read and played back. 10 seconds sounds a bit long to me, but it might also be an effect of you watching HD (my HDTV even takes a few seconds to change channels). By any chance does the jerky picture seem to come up when the On-Screen-Display is up?

2: If the channel's not listed in your program guide, then yes, you'll have to add it before you can receive it on the card.

3: We're not allowed to talk about how to fix this on this board, because its it's not considered legal for us Linux folk to play back video DVDs we bought on DVD players we bought in the USA, (even though the solution is one tiny debian package, that i'm sure a few minutes searching the web will turn up the name of).
