R5D1 Howto Change Tuner Priorities?

Post subject:  R5D1 Howto Change Tuner Priorities?
I had this working in R5A30.2 and R5B7, but can't seem to get it right with R5D1.

How/where do I set the tuner priorities so that I can watch LiveTV on, say Tuner1, and have background recordings take place on Tuner2 ?

I tried modifying the settings with mythtv-setup, but obviously have something set totally wrong...

I have two tuners (2x PVR-150). I'd like Tuner1 to remain for LiveTV viewing only, or be prompted to change to record an additional recording if Tuner2 already is in use--but where is this setting, and what numbers do I use?

Sorry for such a n00b question after I've been using this for a nearly a year now, but I am *stumped* .

Any help would be sincerely appreciated!!!!

Set the input priority under input connections in mythtv-setup. Then go into the frontend set and under tv->general tell it to "avoid conflicts between live tv and scheduled shows". After doing that your live TV watching should start with the lowest priority input, and your recordings should start with the highest priority one.

OK, so the highest priority is 0, or greater than 0?

i.e. i have video0/tuner1 set to 0 (in anticipation of LiveTV) and video1/tuner1 set to 1 (was hoping to use this for background recordings).

I made the change to the settings for avoiding conflicts--thanks!

However, when I go to LiveTV it always uses Tuner 2:1, not Tuner 1:1.

This causes a problem because, if I try to record another program while watching LiveTV using the Program Guide, it shows "Single Recording - Aborted" .

If I manually change to Tuner 1:1, it works. But then EVERY time I back out to the MythTV menus and return to "Watch TV" I end back up and Tuner 2:1.

Do I still have something backwards?

As Hall and Oates put it, "so close, and yet so far away." :)

MythTV seemes pretty consistent about higher number == higher priority. Have you restarted the frontend and backend since making the change?

After restarting the backend (and even rebooting altogether) with no fix, I ended up changing /dev/video0-tuner1 to "0" and /dev/video1-tuner-1 to "1"

now LiveTV works on Tuner2:1, and background recordings take place on Tuner1:1 .

I have no clue, but it works. :)
