I have multiple TV tuners in my box. If I record two programs back to back on all tuners (Yes I know I watch too much TV) then the commercial flagging can be a problem if I am also playing back a show (it can stutter). I am wondering if there is any way to tell MythTV to delay commercial flagging until all tuners are idle and then only flag one show at a time? |

Go to mythtv-setup, then General, and there is an option of when to allow jobs. You can set a start and stop time. I know I watch most of my TV during the hours of 8pm and 11pm, so I only allow jobs to run between midnight and 7pm. This keeps the commercial detection from occurring while I watch TV. So if I am watching a newly recorded show, I can't take advantage of commercial skipping, but if I wait until the next day, the commercials are all marked. There is also the option of maximum simultaneous jobs. I keep that set to 1. |
