Post subject:  Delete Channels / Clear Channel listings without using setup

(I think Cesman might be happier if I put this in here so... ;))

Hi All,

I am currently in the caribbean and we have mostly US cable signals. However Zap2It does not currently list our lineup so I have to do some fancy hand editing with the channel editor to get (most) of the channels in the system. I grabbed the time warner listings out of Raleigh and I'll just do withou the channels that aren't included right now.

However, I can't seem to remove any channels from the channel editor/EPG, only add and edit them... :S This is a problem as I want to exlcude all the channels I don't have, and I especially don't want listings for them as I do most of my recording from the show directory not from the time/channel guide. I don't want to tag things that aren't really available.

I have hand edited the .xml channel listing in the .mythtv directory of my mythtv user, and put "not" in front of all the channels I don't get, and now it doesn't pull in those listings, but they still appear in the channel editor and program guide. Is there any easy way to remove them?

Also, I currently have 9 days of data for ALL the channels. I don't want to drop the setup as I'll lose all the config and relational work I did between the listing channels and my real channels, but I'd like to clear the listings and have it re-fill so that it doesn't include the channels I don't get. Anyone know how I could do this easily without busting the structure I built?

Thanks!

-Jeff

Search the forums anbd see the Myth TV FAQ. There is an FAQ on this.

Basically anything you marked with "not" will disappear after 9 days, but there is a way to manually clear them before that if you're impatient.
