Post subject:  How to run maintenance/repairs?

Recently my knoppmyth system has been freezing and locking up after about an hour or two of viewing and I'm not sure why. The disk was pretty full, so I logged in to it via my mapped network drive and deleted a lot of the old video files there to free up space. It worked fine for a while, but now it's doing the same thing again even though there's no many movie files list. I guess I removed the files but I didn't remove them from the database or something?

Now, after the TV freezes and sits for a while, I get a message saying it's lost connection with the backend server (that's on the same system). I can hit okay and after a while it comes back up to the menu screen, but I can't view TV or recorded shows until I restart the system.

So, I'm thinking I just need to run some maintenance and repair stuff on it, but I'm not sure what or where to start. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Without a few more details its hard to say, but I'm guessing its the MySQL log problem. Try here:

I didn't have the problem that you did however I did delete a file in /myth/tv.
Try:
less /var/log/messages to see if there are a messages(could be many) looking for a missing file.
If I recall this is what I did as root:
touch /myth/tv/missingfilename
touch /myth/tv/missingfilename.png
