Little background first. I have been playing with your most excellent and sometimes frustrating PVR since R5A22.

I travel most of the year so when I get home and have an HD full of content, I would have otherwise missed, it's a great thing.

I am not terribly Linux literate but usually manage to hunt my way through and find useful things to cut and paste and make it work. Generally I SSh in from another box that way its easy to read web pages and work on Myth box.

However I recently tried installing a UPnP server on my Myth back-end and ran into all kinds of issue with dependencies, permissions etc. Left me a bit lost.

I have searched here and the Wikki and it seems no one has shown any interest in this.

Could some kind soul help me out here and either, send me a link suitable for a very computer literate but not terrible Linux informed user, or give me some specifics on how one would accomplish this on a Knoppmyth install.

I use Momitsu Media Center and Avel Link Advanced Server on the PC's. Is there anything comparable for Linux that could be installed to run on KnoppMyth?

Just about to start a clean install of R5D1 and would love to be able to send it to the new big screen in the play room.

This forum hes been a wealth of information and help for someone who is still a Linux newbie and as always any help will be appreciated

version 0.20 has a built in upnp server, wait for a version of knoppmyth that has version 0.20.

Alternatively I found twonkymedia (15Euro) does a great job. Well worth the money.
