I set up a user job to run myth2ipod.

User Job 4: /usr/local/bin/myth2ipod "%DIR%" "%FILE%"

however when I run the job on a recorded program (or set it to automatically run after a program finishes recording) it never actually runs. The front end menu will change from "Start Encode for iPod" to "Stop Encode for iPod" but other than that there are no signs that the job is actually running:

ps -AL | grep myth2ipod
produces no running processes

shows the job

If I run the job from command line everything works fine, so i know nothing is wrong with the script and supporting apps.

Does anyone have a suggestion or has anyone seen this problem before?

Is the job enabled? You have to check a box somewhere in the settings (in mythtv-setup I believe) to enable a user job.

This is the same problem that I am experiencing, any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot?

The jop IS enabled. It actually creates the XML file, but not the video file.
