Post subject:  DVD's to .iso's

Hi Everyone.

Thanks for taking the time to read my message.

I am wanting to archive my personal DVD collection onto my Knoppmyth box. After doing a bit of research I have pretty much settled on ripping the DVDs to .iso. I have seen several instances where people have suggested using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. From what I have read, and please correct me if I'm wrong is that both of these are windows based. Is there a linux application for Knoppmyth that will allow me to rip my dvds, but remove the extras that I do not want - key part there - the extras I do not want? I think it is DVD Decrypter that will allow you to rip just the main movie, but no option to hang on to any extras (except everything).

I don't necessarily care about the director commentaries or foreign lanugages, but I do like some of the deleted scenes and making of parts of DVDs.

Thanks for any advice -

Mike

Myth makes your task easy. No need for other applications.

If you don't like the application provided by mythtv under optical disks, www.videohelp.com is a better site for info on the various iso tools.

You might need libdvdread as well as the libdecss, which IIRC is illegal in the US.
