For some reason, mythMusic has just stopped coming up. Can't load the screen, NOR ANY OF THE PREF/SETUP SCREENS!

... I had mythmusic mapped to an NFS share on another machine, and on one occasion I tried "going there" when the other machine was down. Ever since, even though I can list /mnt/nfs and see all my music in the bash session again, MythMusic just won't load at all anymore.

I've tried stopping/restarting the backend, and nothing works.

I thought I'd try to re-map "/myth/music" as the music folder, but can't even load the setup screen to do that much.

Is there a text file somewhere that this path is saved, so I can edit it directly?

Or has anyone else had this happen? (MythMusic dying, that is) with some pointers on how to get it going again?

I'm all Googled out. No luck yet.

Using R5D1, otherwise perfectly working system (including Music, initially) after recent auto-upgrade.

Same here. The Mythmusic plugin gets broken somehow. Re-installing is probably the solution. I'm going to E50 this week though, so I'm not going to fiddle with it now.
I don't think it's the mapping or lack thereof. It just gets hosed, and you can run the setup nor run MythMusic.

The path is stored in the mysql database in the settings table i guess. You can edit it using phpmyadmin

I don't think so... I checked there, too, looking for the IP and NFS path that I had put into the SETUP screen, and came up with no records. Did a few test searches first, to be sure I was querying correctly... but it's just not there. If it should be, then there's the problem. But I wouldn't know the proper format of the entry to add...

if anyone has mythmusic working, it would be great if they could check the DB, see if the "/myth/music" is listed somewhere, then post the entry (full row) and the particulars... could give that a shot as a fix, and would probably help the developers to know if that works.

The value in the settings table is "MusicLocation". I believe that this is expected to be an exisiting directory, and you must do any NFS mounts at the system level. If memory serves your remote FE should generally mount all of /myth from the master BE using an entry in /etc/fstab something like this:
Code:
black2:/myth /myth nfs rsize=8192,wsize=8192,soft,nosuid 0 0

See Cecil's LinHES writeup to verify this.

same here. MythMusic and its setup screens dont work on an otherwise perfectly running R5D1 frontend. I have another R5D1 frontend that does NOT exhibit this behavior.
I've searched, googled, looked at the "settings" table in mythconverg and can't find the answer.

both my frontends and my backend mount (via NFS) their requisite /video and /music directories exactly the same way in fstab:

biglinuxbox.steeve.home:/video/Films-TV /myth/video/video nfs user,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,soft 0 0
biglinuxbox.steeve.home:/video/posters /myth/video/.covers nfs user,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,soft 0 0
biglinuxbox.steeve.home:/video/Music/iTunes /myth/music nfs user,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,soft 0 0

Everything works EXCEPT MythMusic.

I'm about to upgrade to R5E50 but I'd still like to know why this has occurred... :?
