Hi, Recently took the plunge and upgraded to R5E50 doing an auto-upgrade. For whatever reason, the frontend keeps loosing connnection to the backend. Looking at .xsession-errors I see this: 2007-01-18 12:51:46.480 NVP: prebuffering pause and 2007-01-18 12:28:56.575 MythSocket(82bb310:10): readStringList: Error, timeout. 2007-01-18 12:28:56.591 Connection to backend server lost 2007-01-18 12:28:56.592 Connecting to backend server: 216.249.37.158:6543 (try 1 of 5) 2007-01-18 12:28:56.594 Using protocol version 31 2007-01-18 12:28:56.608 MythSocket(b3c45a90:10): writeStringList: Error, invalid string list. Any ideas? I'm using a PVR-350 on a Pentium III. The older release seemed allot faster than this. Sean |

I was seeing similar errors actually associated with mythbackend losing connection with mySQL. Check your backend logs and see if you have a lot of "Database error was: MySQL server has gone away" Let me know. |
