I have a mbe/sbe set up and would like to use an ati all in wonder remote for each of them.

The problem is getting them to ignore commands from the other remote. I have been googling for a while and have figured out how to change the identifier on the remote, one is now channel 1 the other is channel 2.

Now how do I get the machines to ignore the wrong remote?

I found this suggestion on another site

Try adding this to your modprobe.conf

options lirc_atiusb unique=1

I did a

locate modprobe.conf

but did not find the file, is this a current file or is there another place to add this command?

Thanks

Craig

**EDIT**
So I made a file called /etc/modprobe.conf and added the above line.....drum roll please
Now it does not recognize either remote! if I try to run irw i get

root@sbe:~# irw
connect: No such file or directory

which I assume means that lirc is not even running.

any suggestions.

You can create the file. See Known Issue #4 on the R5E50 Upgrade Hints post.

okay I made the file and found the correct command

options lirc_atiusb mask=65333 (for channel 1.....65330 for channel 2)

it worked on one machine but not the other (the testing version) so I will expand on this post in testing.

Your instructions worked for me. Thanks for the tip.
