I am wanting to transcode my recordings and such to xvid, for storage-space's sake.

Can mythburn be configured to burn xvid recordings like it can burn mpeg2 recordings?

Thanks!

Never tried this, but you can...

Use nuvexport to convert to Xvid. Put it in the videos folder. I think you can then use the myth menus to burn a DVD with this as the source.

If that doesn't work, copy the converted file (it will have a .avi extension) to /myth/tv. Run myth.rebuilddatabase.pl. Answer all the questions correctly EXCEPT the start time. I like to add either a minute or a second to the original start time, to avoid a database error. Allow it to seek process the file.

Delete the original recording. The Xvid will now show up in the Watch Recordings menu (and will play perfectly too). Now you can make a DVD with this as the source the same as you would any other recording.

Because the Xvid is compressed it should take up less space. Try it and let us know what works and how much you can fit on a disk.
