Post subject:  MythTV Playback Filters

Hi

I'm running knoppmyth R5E50 on my Athlon 3000+, with a kworld tuner. The GPU is an ATI x550 running through a DVI-HDMI cable into my Yúsmart HDTV. It's running @ 1080i.

I have to say, for it's robustness and ease of setup, the knoppmyth distro worked right out of the box. amazing. Windows Media Center is dead to me.. (although I am an absolute Linux NOOOOB!)

I was running MediaPortal previously which crashed every 5 minutes, but the picture quality was a lot better. it was a hell of a lot sharper as I was running the video through FFDShow with an unsharp filter and denoise.

Anyone know of how to Sharpen the image using a filter? I'd like LiveTV to look as good as recorded tv.

I've used the denoise and deinterlacing - and read the wiki howto's on picture quality, but the edges are still soft. any other filters that I could use - or any more info on Denoise parameters? can't find any documentation on these anywhere.

thanks!

.matt
