I had to upgrade to the latest version of KnoppMyth as I required a few fixes in a more recent front end.

I run again into the same issue I always run into after an upgrade: old shows are saved but don't show up.

How can I make Myth aware there are still existing shows in the same directory as it is currently recording?
I could manually copy them out but I am sure there must be some way to re-scan the \tv directory.

Thanks!

Did you do make a backup up before you upgraded and use the auto upgrade option? This posting goes through the procedure in great detail and is recommended reading before doing both upgrades and installs.

The script to recover recordings after losing the DB tables is myth.rebuilddatabase.pl but it's really much better to avoid that if possible...

myth.rebuilddatabase.pl is what I needed as I went wrong with the very first steps at upgrade. My bad. The script seems to work (still plowing through).
Why do you mention it should be avoided?

Losing your DB tables in the first place is what I meant should be avoided. If you're running myth.rebuilddatabase.pl it generally means the DB was damaged pretty seriously. Most of the time by something avoidable like forgetting to back up before upgrading or running the system without a UPS so that it gets crashed by a power glitch...

Yes, I did not do this. I like the script though, I am not sure I want to follow the official 'upgrade' path every time, often I like to start clean again when I upgrade and just save the couple of shows I had not watched.

Setup is now so easy with KnoppMyth.

I got a couple of files on my laptop that contain my default steps which I need to execute to re-setup my back end.

I use my back end solely for recording shows over my HD antenna.
I am running OS X on my front end that contains the rest of the needed apps (DVD, pictures etc).

Thanks for all the help! I just checked and all the old shows are now nicely appearing in my recordings listing.
