Hello, Everyone, For some weird reason one of my PVR-150's lost the ability to "tune" again. Usually a reboot would fix it, but not this time. I searched the boards and decided perhaps the best thing to do was to go ahead and delete the cards in MythTV-setup and reconfigure them. After doing this, I no longer am able to watch LiveTV. I have repeatedly deleted the cards and recreated them, assigning them to the correct source/connection, and refilling the guide data etc. The program guide looks good-nothing is missing there. However, here is an example from my /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log : Code: 2007-04-08 14:50:02.509 Using runtime prefix = /usr [/code]2007-04-08 14:50:02.553 New DB connection, total: 1 2007-04-08 14:50:02.562 Connected to database 'mythconverg' at host: localhost 2007-04-08 14:50:02.571 Current Schema Version: 1160 Starting up as the master server. 2007-04-08 14:50:02.592 New DB connection, total: 2 2007-04-08 14:50:02.594 Connected to database 'mythconverg' at host: localhost 2007-04-08 14:50:02.599 EITHelper: localtime offset -4:00:00 2007-04-08 14:50:02.608 New DB connection, total: 3 2007-04-08 14:50:02.609 Connected to database 'mythconverg' at host: localhost 2007-04-08 14:50:02.772 EITHelper: localtime offset -4:00:00 2007-04-08 14:50:02.914 EITHelper: localtime offset -4:00:00 2007-04-08 14:50:03.057 New DB scheduler connection 2007-04-08 14:50:03.058 Connected to database 'mythconverg' at host: localhost 2007-04-08 14:50:03.062 Main::Starting HttpServer 2007-04-08 14:50:03.074 Main::Registering HttpStatus Extension 2007-04-08 14:50:03.086 mythbackend version: 0.20.20060828-3 www.mythtv.org 2007-04-08 14:50:03.090 Enabled verbose msgs: important general 2007-04-08 14:50:03.092 AutoExpire: Found 3 recorders w/max rate of 216 MiB/min 2007-04-08 14:50:03.094 AutoExpire: Required Free Space: 2.7 GB w/freq: 5 min 2007-04-08 14:50:04.203 MainServer::HandleAnnounce Monitor 2007-04-08 14:50:04.205 adding: mythtv as a client (events: 0) 2007-04-08 14:50:04.207 MainServer::HandleAnnounce Monitor 2007-04-08 14:50:04.207 adding: mythtv as a client (events: 1) 2007-04-08 14:50:04.215 MainServer::HandleAnnounce Playback 2007-04-08 14:50:04.215 adding: mythtv as a client (events: 0) 2007-04-08 14:50:04.218 TVRec(3): Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV 2007-04-08 14:50:04.224 TVRec(3): HW Tuner: 3->3 2007-04-08 14:50:04.637 NVR: Won't work with the streaming interface, falling back VIDIOCGCHAN: Invalid argument VIDIOCGMBUF:: Invalid argument 2007-04-08 14:50:05.105 Reschedule requested for id -1. 2007-04-08 14:50:05.577 NVR(/dev/video2) Error: Reading VBI data eno: Resource temporarily unavailable (11) 2007-04-08 14:50:07.972 Scheduled 303 items in 2.9 = 0.24 match + 2.63 place 2007-04-08 14:50:07.985 Recording starts soon, AUTO-Startup assumed 2007-04-08 14:50:23.071 Expiring Everyday Food "Easy Weekend Entertaining" from Sun Apr 8 14:30:00 2007, 0 MBytes, forced expire (LiveTV recording) 2007-04-08 14:50:44.651 TVRec(3): Changing from WatchingLiveTV to None 2007-04-08 14:50:44.670 Finished recording Patio & Garden: channel 1010 Eek. Not good. Wife will not be happy. Any ideas on what I should do from here? I have reset the correct recording profiles with the PVR-150 and the R5E50 release... thought that might be it, but it's still not working. After defining all the cards and the source data in mythtv-setup, when I exit I get this error: Code: Card 0 (type ) is set to start on channel 3, which does not exist.
Card 0 (type ) is set to start on channel 3, which does not exist. Card 0 (type ) is set to start on channel 3, which does not exist. It doesn't even appear as if the cards are entered correctly... ? Or am I missing something really basic here? Thanks in advance for ANY help on this!!! |

What do the ivtv sections in the dmesg output or the /var/log/messages log files look like? Have you been through all the steps on the BlackScreenWatchingTV troubleshooting page on the wiki? Finally, have you checked your firmware following the directions on the CompileIvtv pages and shut the machine down _cold_ for at least a couple minutes? |

tjc, Thanks for the reply. I'm presently rewiring my server room at work, but will try this when I get home in a few hours. Thankfully, the wife has some studying to do, so that helps quite a bit! ![]() I'll look through the knoppmythwiki blackscreen info when I get home. The 3 cards all show up OK on the dmesg, so far as I can tell--I'll post that info when I get back. Thanks! |

Ah. Looks like I found the problem. I had all the PVR-150's configured as Analog capture cards--I completely passed over the option for which kind of card it was, due to it not being easily seen as a highlighted object (as the others on the page). ![]() It's MUCH better now ![]() Thanks for the help!! |
