Hi,

I have a recording that I would like to delete, but MythTV won't let me. The error message in the backend log says

"Unable to retrieve program info for chanid 1108 at Sun Mar 11 03:28:00 2007. Program will NOT be deleted."

I looked around, but the only information I could find was somebody blaming such a problem on time zone differences between backend and frontend. In my case, both front- and backend are on the same machine and it seems that the system timezone is correct. Then again, 3/11 was the DST change if I am not mistaken ... I updated my system a few days later. Either way, is there an easy way (or any way) to manually delete a recording by messing with the MySQL database? I am obviously not that familiar with MythTV's database structure and don't want to mess up an otherwise perfectly working system.

Thanks in advance,
Carsten

Sounds like your database may be damaged. See Cecil's DB repair sticky under hints & tips.

If the file doesn't exists on disk you can "touch" the expected name and that will generally allow you to delete it.

The file is there and the databases seem to be fine, at least I didn't get any error messages during myisam check.

OK, so check your recorded (existing recordings) and recordedprogram (historical recordings for duplicate detection) tables to see if the records for the program look sane. Pay special attention that the starttime and chanid match.

Looked fine to me as well, nothing special to note. I was daring and deleted both the corresponding row from recorded and recordedprogram. It's gone now from MythWeb and I'll delete the attached files by hand. Thanks.
