Post subject:  Blue screen on UK DVB

Hi,

Just switched over to try KnoppMyth after a painful attempt to try and set up MythTV on a Feisty box; much more impressed with the cohesiveness of KM but am falling at the final hurdle - any help appreciated!

Relevant parts of my system, at my estimation, are:
- ATI Radeon 8500 Pro
- Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T

And everything else should be up to it (AMD 2200+, 512Mb RAM, 2 x 120Gb HDD...).

So. All installed fine and the card is autodetected and I've set it all up (I think) correctly; that is, it's recognised, configured as a DVB v3.x, and will scan for channels and pick them up fine.

The problem is that playback, of anything, seems to just result in a blue screen (the only change I can make to which is to switch it between widescreen and full screen). That said, it seems to record happily; it'll schedule recordings and create them in the recordings menu, and it'll even display the preview video correctly, but playback results in a black screen this time.

I've not checked audio output while all this is going on though so I don't know if that's working.

My suspicions, given it's recording but not displaying anything, are that it's a graphics driver issue; any thoughts welcomed though...

Thanks.

Do you have an Nvidia graphics card you could try instead of the ATI one? Since you can see the preview of recordings its bound to be a graphics card problem.

I use tv out on a 350. I very occasionally experience a similar problem. The differences in the output driver probably mean the problem is unrelated, however it is always fixed (so far) with a reboot. I have always put this down to the Hauppauge 350 card getting confused with recordings made on channels with poor DVB-T reception, but it might just be something in mythtv.
