I'm running KnoppMyth (installed to HDD) and I've been trying unsuccessfully to grab some screen shots of MythTV's configuration screens for a magazine article.

I tried installing 'scrot' from a shell window but I was unable to use it to grab the Myth UI.

Is anyone able to help me?

I have always used VNC to remote into the PC and get the screenshot that way.

Thanks,

I did think of that, although I was unsuccessful in getting VNC to work. Did you use tightvncserver? Is there anything clever I need to do to get the MythTV interface to run over VNC?

Since R5E50 VNC is installed and configured out of the box. Password is "mythtv" on Windows I use TightVNC viewer, on Linux I use the default remote desktop client on Unbuntu.

Just to clarify:

1. Install a vnc client
2. connect to something like "192.168.0.10:0", replacing the ip address as necessary (or use the host name) and password as above
3. Snap away!

Mike
