I think that KnoppMyth, by default, automatically mounts them.

Yep, just tried on R5F1, then upgraded to R5F27. You put the USB thingy in, and up pops MythGallery trying to display its folders.

(Note that you might need "Monitor CD/DVD drives" enabled. Page 7 or 8 of Settings -> General)
