i have noticed a few times up to now, that the manual scheduling of the backend-box from another machine, using mythweb doesn't work....

most times it does work fine,
sometimes i make the settings for the scheduled recording in the mythweb window, and after pressing the footer button (make schedulw (?)) the window disappears and returns (it does do that too when the scheduling is successfull).
when i look then in 'upcoming recordings' nothing is listed !!!
when i repeat the procedure nothing changes: the 'upcoming' list remains empty.

when next to this i try to schedule on the backend box itself (has keyboard and monitor),
i am failing to schedule again.

quite unpleasant when the program to be recorded will start in a few minutes...

when i do a reboot of the backend box (cold) everything seems to be cured and the scheduling can be done (and the recording is done following this).

is this a known issue of KM R5E50 ?

thanks,
rob

I have seen the situation where recordings couldn't be scheduled. This occured when the tuner card could not be opened. I don't use mythweb so this was when trying to schedule through the front end or for recording rules. It would go through the actions without showing an error, but the recording would not appear in the upcoming recording list.

In my case this was because I had carried out an upgrade and the card's driver needed new firmware so hadn't come up properly. This was easily fixed once I had realised what was going on, however in your case it might be that the tuner/driver has crashed in some way and this is why it works again after a reboot.

## thank you for your explanation on this.
sounds plausible.

best would be to leave the KM-box on 24/7, but i have to change the line from my sat LNB between the DVB-S card in my KM-box and my desktop sat-receiver frequently (can only use the telly by the receiver).
i don't change this cable on 'running machines' having the fear something could be destroyed (LNB or DVB-S card).
i was told not to use a splitter when using this card.
haven't the knowledge to recognize this as 'bullocks'
